“The Link” – Ginninderry Multi-Purpose Centre

Ginninderry’s multi-purpose community centre, “The Link”, officially delivered to the Riverview Group |

“The Link” building was officially opened at a VIP event, with guests gathering to hear presentations from Riverview Developments Managing Director, David Maxwell; Minister for the Arts and Community Events, Gordon Ramsay; Land Development Agency Greenfields Executive Director, Tom Gordon; and Strathnairn Arts Association Director, Peter Haynes.

The multi-purpose centre now provides space for sales and display for the Ginninderry development, community hall space, training/class room, administration/office space, multi-purpose catering space and large gathering area. In addition to this a portion of the building space will also be occupied by Strathnairn as a display area for artwork.

Built by Manteena, the community centre features a mix of recycled timber products, Colorbond and fiberglass cladding, recycled bricks and corten metal cladding. It is a credit to the site team and all sub-contractors who worked together to deliver the works by the official launch date; as the program was severely impacted by wet weather encountered during the early stages of the project (earthworks, in-ground services and ground slab). Other highlights include: value management initiatives, which saved the client thousands of dollars; and environmental management, which saw the relining of a leaking dam next to site and the relocation of frogs, tadpoles, turtles and yabbies into a new ecosystem on a adjacent property.
